Message from Imam Ahmad Derrick Peat

As-salaam alaikum,
We greet and welcome you with the salutation of the prophets (peace be upon them all). We seek Allah’s aid, assistance and spiritual support as we endeavor to instill within ourselves the prophetic character and moral code. Here at the IATC we maintain that Islam is a religion fundamentally intended to empower the human being and allow him or her to transcend the ego and overcome the adversities of life en route to fulfilling God’s aim for us – that is representing Him in accordance with the way of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). Here, at our Islamic center, we stress god-consciousness, love, tolerance, mercy and inclusivity, because we know that the Prophet (peace be upon him) intended for his nation to imbibe and spread this beauty throughout the earth. We utilize the trivium of traditional Islamic education, application with excellence (ihsan) and communal invitation/engagement (dawah).

Furthermore, we seek to share our faith with our non-Muslim neighbors by hosting interfaith events, Ramadan iftars and, above all else, serving the greater community and reflecting the prophetic character in our social interactions. We intend to obtain God’s pleasure in all these regards, and we request your prayers and your support that we can succeed in these regards united as one front for the greater good of all of humanity. We also fully welcome your support whether through your presence, prayers or financially. Thank you. God bless.
